Real inspections, honest options

I've been on roofs since 2017, and I started Affordable Home Solutions in 2021. We grew out of storm restoration work, which is where our insurance know-how comes from, but I never wanted to run a door-knocking operation. I wanted the kind of company I'd hire for my own house.

So every job starts with a real inspection, and that means going up in your attic and checking your ventilation, because a roof installed over a poorly ventilated attic will fail early and void the warranty. Then I sit down at your kitchen table and lay out both packages in writing the same day, so you're choosing between options instead of reacting to one number.

Why Affordable Home Solutions

Every homeowner deserves the best roof

Our job is to make it easy and affordable.

  1. What goes on your house

    It's a system, not a shingle

Shingles don't waterproof a roof. The system does.

Before you sign anything we show you every component going on your house. Most companies quote a decent shingle and then quietly install a cheap generic underlayment, which is exactly what cuts the lifespan of the roof you just paid for. We install manufacturer-grade components throughout, and that's what unlocks the strongest coverage available: up to 50 years on materials and 25 years of workmanship through TAMKO DiamondShield on qualifying systems.

The 50-year material coverage and the 25-year DiamondShield workmanship coverage apply to the Platinum system, where every component is made by TAMKO. Material coverage is transferable for 20 years and prorates at 20 percent after the full-start period.

See what goes into each package
  2. What we fix first

We upgrade the house so the roof actually lasts

Most manufacturer warranties are void if the attic ventilation is undersized. That's the part of the trade most companies won't bring up, because saying it out loud means charging more and doing harder work.

Our philosophy is simple: do the job right or don't do it. Sometimes that means upgrading soffit, adding intake or exhaust, or replacing rotted plywood. If we can't stand behind how the roof will perform in ten years, we won't install it.

  3. How you pay for it

Flexible financing at no extra cost

Up to 18 months with no interest for qualifying homeowners, or a low fixed monthly payment with no prepayment penalty. Both run through Foundation Finance, both start with a soft credit check that won't affect your score, and you see the exact rate and terms in writing before you sign.

Interest is waived only if the amount financed is paid in full before the promotional period ends. If any balance remains when it closes, interest is charged retroactively from substantial project completion at the full rate, not from the end of the promotion. Financing is subject to credit approval. Foundation Finance Company LLC sets and discloses your rate and terms.

    Compare both payment structures
  4. If a storm sent you here

We handle the claim, including the denials

If storm damage is why you're calling, we document it properly for your carrier, handle partial approvals, and regularly overturn denials. And if a claim isn't the right move for you, we'll tell you that too.

  5. Who stands behind us

TAMKO puts their name on the roofs we build

We're a TAMKO Pro Diamond contractor, the highest certification TAMKO offers, and fewer than ten of us hold it in the DMV. That's not a logo we bought. It means our shingle manufacturer stands behind the roofs we install.

With the TAMKO Titan system, all 25 years of workmanship coverage is backed by the manufacturer instead of by us. TAMKO is confident enough in how we install to write that coverage themselves.

    TAMKO Pro Diamond Contractor

Our own workmanship warranty is 5 years and it backs the Standard package. The 25-year workmanship coverage is TAMKO's, under the DiamondShield program, and TAMKO arranges any repair under it.

We had our roof replaced last month by AHS and the process was great. Kevin Diaz came out and did a great job with the initial roof inspection and walk through of the process. Rama did a fantastic job with explaining the options and costs and getting everything setup and then keeping on top of everything. The crew was friendly and professional and did an excellent job with the install and the cleanup. Finally, Lukas Turner was great with the post install inspection and walkaround.

Just completed the final process for a new roof constructed by AHS. I was thoroughly impressed with AHS’s personnel specifically Brock Doctson. He took us through the entire process from talking to the insurance company to physically coming to the house for payment when needed. He explained the entire process in great detail and was very attentive in following up and answering any questions. AHS should be very proud of his work ethic. Will recommend this company to anyone.

We just got our roof repaired with Affordable Home Solutions and we love our new roof. Ross came to our house to look at our roof and immediately told us to get in contact with our insurance while he was there. Throughout the process he was always checking in about the status and was patient with us as well. We had a leak one night and I let him know, next day he was covering the roof with a tarp where the leak was coming from.

Serving Northern Virginia and Suburban Maryland

Our roofers are licensed in both Virginia and Maryland, so one crew covers both sides of the Potomac out of our Falls Church office. You get the same free inspection and the same warranty whether your roof is in Fairfax, Loudoun, or Prince William County or across the river in Montgomery or Prince George's County.

FAQ

Questions homeowners ask us first

Are you licensed and insured in both Virginia and Maryland?

Yes. We hold Virginia Class A contractor license #2705084385 and Maryland Home Improvement Commission license #142051, and we carry full liability and workers compensation on every crew that touches your property. We are a TAMKO Diamond contractor, a GAF certified contractor, and an Owens Corning Preferred contractor, and we are BBB accredited with an A+ rating. Both license numbers are checkable with the issuing body before you book anything, and they are worth checking. Because we're licensed in both states, we can work the whole DMV instead of just one side of the river.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William counties in Virginia, and Montgomery and Prince George's counties in Maryland, plus Alexandria and Columbia. Our office is at 6402 Arlington Blvd in Falls Church. We don't take flat residential roofs, and we don't work in Washington, DC proper or Baltimore City.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. Every estimate starts with a free on-site inspection that includes the attic and the ventilation, not just the shingles from the driveway. You get a written estimate the same day with both packages laid out so you can see what you're choosing between. There's no charge and no obligation.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. There are two ways to structure it: clear the balance inside a promotional window with no interest, or take a fixed monthly payment that never changes. Both start with a soft credit check, and we work with strong and weaker credit profiles. You see the exact rate and terms in writing before you sign anything.

Do you work with insurance claims?

Yes, and it's one of the things we do best. We document storm damage for your carrier, handle partial approvals, and regularly overturn denied claims, and we have working relationships with public adjusters and appraisers across Virginia and Maryland. Insurance is one way to pay for a roof, and if a claim isn't the right move for you, we'll tell you straight.

How quickly can you respond to an active leak?

We tarp the same night in most cases to stop water coming into the house. Our office phones are answered by a real person Monday through Friday, and our crews run Monday through Saturday. Stopping the water is a separate job from fixing the roof, and it shouldn't wait on an estimate.

Ready for a Free Roof Inspection?

We inspect the roof and the attic, document what we find, and give you written options. No cost, and no obligation to book anything.
